Children attending Forest International School Paris come not from around the world: USA, UK, Germany, Holland, Spain, Japan, Romania, Serbia, Switzerland, Belgium, Egypt, Australia, France...
As most of the teachers are also from international backgrounds, we are sensitive to the challenges involved in adapting to a new setting, and are aware of the importance of the school to any expatriate. Therefore our school offers a happy, friendly atmosphere to help the children settle in their new life as quickly as possible.
We are a tight-knit community, where staff members know the names of all children and parents alike. Our Parents Association plays an important role in making new families feel at home, offering a variety of events and activities (specific country-related festivities, coffee mornings, walks and tours in the region, language classes... etc.).
One of the strengths of Forest International School Paris is the parent body which contributes to welcoming new families, helping them settle into our community, and arranging coffee mornings or lunches so that parents can get to know each other and settle in locally.
They also assist in the organisation of special events, such as the end of term parties, the school fair etc.
Our close partnership with parents is a vital part of the school’s success. Parents are encouraged to take a full part in their child’s education, they are informed of their child’s progress through ongoing communication, extensive reports twice a year and Parent/Teacher meetings.
Several times a year exciting activities are organised by the parent association, such as picnics, treasure hunts or a “Dad’s Day”, where portfolios are shared through a student-led presentation. Children’s art work is sold during our yearly Art Auction, collected funds are used to finance specific art projects with local artists.
